Susan Salcedo was an actress and singer active during the 60’s in the Philippines. She starred in Let’s Do the Psychedelic ’68 (1967) and Shake-a-Boom (1967) before disappearing into relative obscurity.

Here is her version of “Louie Louie” an American rhythm and blues song written and composed by Richard Berry in 1955. The best known version being by The Kingsmen released in 1963. The song is based on the tune “El Loco Cha Cha” popularized by bandleader René Touzet and is an example of Latin influence on American popular music.
