Born Tirso Silvano Cruz on April 1, 1952. He was a member of the musically well renowned Cruz Family, his father being in the legendary band Joe Cruz & The Cruzettes.
Tirso Cruz started his career as the partner to superstar Nora Aunor in the early 70’s. His nickname was “Pip,” and was famously associated with the “Guy and Pip” love team tandem which was considered the Philippine’s most celebrated in the history of Philippine cinema. Tirso and Nora starred in countless movie hits such as “My Little Brown Girl,” “Together Again,” “Young Love,” “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” among others.
He is still active in Philippine TV and Cinema today and here we have his versions of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On”, The Dramatics’ “Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get” and Milt Matthew’s “Gonna Spend My Life (Lovin’ You)”.
